Flytech supplies seamless stainless steel tubing for instrumentation, impulse and process lines. Drawn from a solid billet with no longitudinal weld seam, seamless tube removes the weld line that becomes the weak point under pressure and the first site of corrosive attack, which is why it is the specified choice for instrument lines in oil and gas, petrochemical and process plants.
The tube is supplied cold drawn and fully annealed. That soft condition matters more than most buyers realise: a compression fitting works by driving a ferrule into the tube wall, so tubing that is too hard will not allow the ferrule to bite and seal, and will crack rather than bend when formed. Tubing supplied harder than the fitting manufacturer allows is the most common cause of leaking instrument connections.
Flytech supplies tube in the annealed condition intended for compression fitting service, with dimensional tolerances held tight enough for the ferrule to seat correctly.
Grade selection follows the media. SS316 carries 2 to 3 percent molybdenum, giving resistance to chlorides, seawater and acidic conditions that SS304 cannot match. SS316L lowers the carbon content, reducing carbide precipitation in the heat affected zone where the tube will be welded. Most instrumentation tube is dual certified to both grades, so a single stock item covers mechanical and welded installations.
