Frequently Asked Questions
When should I choose PU over nylon or polyethylene tubing?
Choose PU where the tube moves, flexes or needs a tight bend radius, such as robot arms and cable chains. Nylon handles higher pressure and temperature but is stiffer. Polyethylene is the economical option for fixed runs.
What is the difference between ether and ester based polyurethane?
Ether based PU resists hydrolysis, meaning it holds up better in humid and wet conditions, which suits the Malaysian climate. Ester based PU has better oil and abrasion resistance. Specify the conditions and the right grade will be supplied.
Does working pressure change with temperature?
Yes. The published working pressure applies at around 20°C and falls as temperature rises. Derate the figure for hot environments, and confirm the derating factor for your operating temperature when ordering.
