Nylon (PA) Pneumatic Tubing

Nylon (polyamide) tubing for higher pressure and temperature compressed air, fuel and hydraulic control lines. Oil resistant and dimensionally stable.

Flytech supplies nylon tubing for compressed air mains, fuel lines and hydraulic control circuits. Polyamide handles higher working pressure and higher temperature than polyurethane or polyethylene, and resists oils and fuels that attack softer tubing, which is why it is specified for pneumatic mains, vehicle air and fuel systems, and hydraulic pilot lines.

It is stiffer than PU, holding its shape along a run without support, and dimensionally stable enough to keep its bore under sustained pressure and heat. Where a plastic tube has to do the work of a small bore metal line, nylon is normally the answer.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use nylon instead of polyurethane tubing?
Choose nylon where working pressure, temperature or oil exposure is beyond what polyurethane handles, such as compressed air mains, fuel lines and hydraulic pilot circuits. Choose polyurethane where the tube needs to flex repeatedly or bend tightly.

What is the difference between PA11, PA12 and PA6?
They are different polyamide grades with differing flexibility, moisture absorption and temperature capability. PA11 and PA12 absorb less moisture and stay more flexible, which suits humid conditions and vehicle work. Specify your conditions and the correct grade will be supplied.

Can nylon tubing be used for hydraulic lines?
It is used for hydraulic pilot and control circuits at moderate pressure, not for main power lines. For high pressure hydraulic service, use a thermoplastic or wire reinforced hydraulic hose, which Flytech also supplies.
