Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What chemicals is the GG-Type composite hose compatible with?
A: The GG-Type is suitable for Group 1 and Group 2 chemicals including hydrocarbons, petroleum products, diesel, crude oil, lubricating oils, and a wide range of solvents and liquid chemicals. For aggressive Group 3 chemicals, the STG or STS PTFE-lined types are recommended.
Q: What is the difference between GG and SS type composite hose?
A: The GG type uses galvanised steel wire — suitable for hydrocarbons and general chemicals. The SS type uses stainless steel 316 wire for aggressive chemicals and corrosive environments. Both are EN 13765 certified and available from Flytech Engineering.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: Available in sizes 1″ to 8″ (DN25 to DN200) with ready stock for standard sizes. Custom lengths and end fitting assemblies available on request.
Q: Can composite hose be supplied with hydrotest certificate?
A: Yes. All composite hose assemblies can be hydrotested and supplied with a test certificate — required for oil & gas, port terminal, marine, and offshore applications.
Q: What end fittings are available?
A: Available with Camlock couplings (Type A-F), BSP threaded, BSPT, and flanged ends (ANSI 150#, DIN, JIS). Carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium fittings available.
